At Tumbleweed Publishing, we empower neurodiverse learners with innovative, distraction-free literacy materials that celebrate individual strengths and foster inclusivity. By providing tools that nurture a love for reading and honor each learner’s unique path, we inspire every reader to thrive on their journey to literacy.
Our Story
For many years, we have talked about how to sow and grow a seed into an educational product that would serve the unique needs of neurodiverse learners who are not only dyslexic, but also have ADHD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental differences.
WE WILL provide neurodiverse learners with the highest quality decodable books they deserve! Our innovative readers will avoid visual distractions and allow students the ability to focus on the enormously challenging task of decoding, yet will also provide the very enjoyable experience of viewing rich illustrations and eye catching photography. By embracing a multitude of perspectives as we create our books, we will combat stereotypes and also celebrate the unique backgrounds of each student, nurturing a sense of inclusion and belonging.
Our Team
The Tumbleweed team is composed of industry leading literacy experts, dyslexic activists, and parents of neurodiverse learners. We work with expert literacy specialists and dyslexic organizations to craft meaningful, instructionable, and comprehensible texts that build background knowledge, vocabulary and language development, foundational skills, fluency, and comprehension. Tumbleweed is committed to supporting educators as they implement instruction and we will provide robust professional learning opportunities.
